Mount Rinjani is designated UNESCO as the geopark of the world
Mount Rinjani in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), established into UNESCO Global Geopark (UGG) together with Ciletuh, Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province.

The official appointment will take place in September 2018 at Adamelo Brenta Geopark, Italy, at the International Conference on UNESCO Global Geopark.
"Around the world, there are hundreds of UNESCO Global Geopark, the entry of Mount Rinjani into UNESCO Global Geopark will be an effective promotion event especially for NTB tourism sector," said General Manager Geopark Rinjani , Chairul Mahsul.
